To get started on svlogbook.com you must first set up an account.  It is easy to set up an account and takes only a few minutes.  Just follow these steps:

1. Go to the homepage at svlogbook.com and click on the button labelled "Set up a profile now".
2. Enter your personal details for yourself or the owner of the vessel here first.  Note that it must be your own personal details, do not enter the boat details here.  You will add the boat profile details and other crew members later.
   1. Note that your username must only consist of letters, numbers, underscores or hyphens.
   2. Don't worry if you enter something incorrectly, it will ask you enter it again.
   3. Once you have successfully entered your user details then you will be sent a confirmation email with your username and password.
3. You will be directed to the login page.  Log in using the details you provided and were emailed to you in Step 2.
4. You now have a blank User Profile.  You can choose to enter some basic information such as your date of birth, a biography and a profile picture.  All this information is optional so you can just click the "Submit" button to skip this step.  However it is encouraged to at least upload a profile picture and a brief one-line bio to improve the look of your profile.
5. Congratulations, you have set up a User Profile.  If you are the owner of a boat then the next step is to Add a boat.

Each crew-member for a boat will have an associated User Profile page.  Once they have created a User account then they can be added as a crew-member to a Boat.
